Good afternoon, Lorton Station families!
Our recent stretch of unexpected snow days gave us a little more winter than we planned, and we appreciate your flexibility and patience as we navigated the changing schedule together. We are excited to welcome all of our students back to school next week, refreshed and ready to learn. Due to the weather-related closures, the end of the second quarter has been extended to ensure students have the time and support they need to demonstrate their learning. As always, our teachers and staff are committed to providing extra support, opportunities for reflection, and continued encouragement so every student can have a strong school year. We’re looking forward to a smooth and positive return!
Quick highlights:
- Report Cards will be available on ParentVue on February 9th and in your child's backpack on February 11th.
Have a great day,
Dr. Legagneur, Mr. Barton, and Ms. Champion
Meal Kits Available for Students
In an effort to support students who may be experiencing food insecurity during planned school closures, Fairfax County Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) is providing meal kits at specific schools. Meal kits will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, January 30.
Children do not need to be present to pick up the kits, which will contain a meal and a healthy snack. No proof of eligibility or identification is required. View pickup locations for meal kits.

It’s Kindergarten Registration Time!
Kindergarten helps children learn and practice the social, emotional, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills they will use throughout their lives.
Fairfax County public schools typically conduct kindergarten registration events, including orientation, in the spring. Eligible children can be registered throughout the summer, but registering your child early helps schools prepare and ensure they have the teachers and resources needed on the first day of school.
If your child will attend our school, please gather necessary documents and complete registration forms as soon as possible.
FCPS offers support and resources for all families to help with registration and the transition to kindergarten. For support in other languages, please visit the FCPS Registration webpage.
Want a quick way to recognize an employee or team? Share an FCPS CARES! Families, colleagues, and students are all invited to submit. The FCPS CARES is automatically sent to the recipient(s) and their supervisor, and is posted on fcps.edu. Additionally, each month one school in our region wins a staff celebration party from HR. Encourage your community to show our staff that their hard work is appreciated
