Here is an update on this weekend’s activities. We will be moving forward as planned, following the county guidance shared earlier:

In response to the extremely cold weather, all FCPS fields and outdoor facilities are closed. School buildings will remain open for community use and other FCPS activities.

When possible and safe to do so, we ask that families have an adult drive their child to and from school-based activities.

Friday Events

Boys & Girls Basketball vs. Lewis

• Boys: Home

• Girls: Away

• Game Times: 4:30 PM, 5:45 PM, 7:15 PM

• Boys Senior Night has been moved to February 13 vs. Edison

Swimming – District Finals (Audrey Moore Rec Center)

• Warm-ups: 4:00 PM

• Meet Start: 5:30 PM

Track – Districts (PG SportsPlex)

• Doors Open: 10:00 AM

• Competition Begins: 11:00 AM

• Field Events:

  • Pole Vault & Shot Put — Saturday at Robinson, 12:00 PM

  • High Jump — Episcopal (Tuesday or Wednesday, TBD)

Girls Wrestling – Zone Qualifier (Hayfield)

• Wrestling begins at 12:00 PM Friday

• Continues Saturday

We will host a varsity doubleheader vs. Hayfield along with celebrations for:

• Mount Vernon’s 85th Anniversary

• BSU Divine 9 Night (between the varsity games)

• Girls Varsity: 6:00 PM

• Boys Varsity: 8:00 PM
