In order to mitigate the lost days due to weather this week, FCPS has made some adjustments to the end of 2nd quarter. 2nd Quarter will now end on Tuesday, February 3. Teachers will communicate any changes to assessments and/or assignments through Talking Points or Schoology.

- Grade Book and Report Card Unavailable for Viewing in PVUE/SVUE: February 3 at 4:00 p.m. through February 9 at 6:00 a.m. (previously unavailable through February 5). Access returns on February 9 at 6:00 a.m.
- Weekly Progress Report Emails Disabled: February 4–February 8
- Student Second Semester Schedule Visibility in PVUE/SVUE: February 3 at 4:00 p.m.

An evening of unity and tradition, International Night is a celebration of cultural diversity.
To maintain the focus on cultural appreciation, political speeches and signage are not permitted.
International Night will be streamed LIVE for everyone to enjoy from the comfort of their homes, so no one has to miss out on this wonderful event! Seating is limited, so be sure to take advantage of the live stream option. Streaming information will be shared with the community on the day of the event and will be posted on Edison’s webpage and Instagram.

 Edison Academy invites you to attend our in-person Open House event on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM (snow date is Saturday, February 21). We are located at 5801 Franconia Road, Alexandria, VA. Our entrance is located at Door #13. For a distraction-free start to the New Year, please remind your student about FCPS' policy for cell phones and personal devices. This policy helps students focus, interact more with their peers and teachers, and build independent problem-solving skills.

Meal Kits Available for Students
In an effort to support students who may be experiencing food insecurity while our schools are closed during planned student holidays, Fairfax County Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) is providing meal kits at specific schools for students. Meal kits will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, January 30.
Children do not need to be present to pick up the kits, which will contain a meal and a healthy snack. No proof of eligibility or identification is required. View pickup locations for meal kits.

Mason District will hold their 2nd Annual Community Health Fair on Saturday, February 7 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m at the James Lee Community Center. They are partnering with a variety of community groups, organizations, and county departments to provide valuable health-related information, services, and resources for the community.

The Office of the Ombuds engages with families, students, and staff to offer resources and improve the experience of each and every member of the FCPS community. They work as an independent confidential resource to help answer questions, offer options to resolve concerns, and hear complaints regarding FCPS matters. Ombuds staff do not change or make decisions, policies, or regulations; take sides; or provide legal advice.

Is your student experiencing anxiety, behavior changes, or challenges with peer and family relationships? If so, you may refer your child for weekly therapy with a licensed therapist through Hazel Health. Visit the FCPS Teletherapy webpage for information on this service.

Manage Your Child’s Screen Time on FCPS Devices
FCPS offers the Lightspeed Parent Portal to help you manage screen time on your child's FCPS device at home. With a Parent Portal account, you can control your child’s access to YouTube and pause website browsing during after-school hours.Please note that parent controls are active only during after-school hours, defined as Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. (including student holidays) and all day Saturday and Sunday.
