Dear TLES Families,
We hope this message finds you safe and warm after a week of significant winter weather. We also hope our tigers were able to enjoy a few unexpected snow days (while also engaging with some good books and reinforcing activities from our teachers)! As we continue to dig out from the snow and ice, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our custodial team for their tireless efforts clearing walkways and preparing the building as safely as possible.
Our custodial team plays a critical role in keeping our school safe, clean, and welcoming—from maintaining families' paths to school and outdoor spaces to ensuring classrooms and common areas are properly sanitized, all while doing an awesome job maintaining a 70-year-old building - which by the way looks pretty great inside and out! We would like to recognize these MVPs whose dedication makes a tremendous difference every day:
-
Hada Castro, Building Supervisor
-
Jose Castro, Assistant Building Supervisor
-
Buu Lam, Custodian
-
Hai Nguyen, Custodian
-
Jose Rodriguez, Custodian
Their long hours and behind-the-scenes work, especially through frigid temperatures and challenging snow and ice conditions, have been nothing short of extraordinary.
While students were home, teachers participated in a virtual staff development day on Thursday and engaged in professional learning and planning time on Friday. This provided valuable opportunities for collaboration and preparation as we look ahead to the coming weeks.
We look forward to welcoming students back on Monday and returning to our regular routines!
Ben Chiet, Sarah Buchanan & Lindsay Duch
