Toyota weighs banning disabling of safety features

Toyota is considering banning drivers from turning off vehicle safety features as part of its goal of eliminating traffic accidents, says Akihiro Sarada, president of Toyota's software development center. Current regulations in places such as Australia and Europe allow drivers to manually disable systems such as lane-keeping and speed-limit awareness, but Toyota might restrict this, except in controlled environments such as racetracks.
