 Family Culture Night
Dear Canterbury Woods Families,
It has certainly been a crazy week with the weather and multiple delays. Thank you all so much for your flexibility and patience as we’ve navigated it together. Due to lingering snow and ice, students have had indoor recess all week and it is likely that will continue into next week, as there hasn’t been much melting. When conditions allow us to safely go outside, we absolutely will, so please be sure to always send your child to school with a coat.
Before the snow arrived, we had a fantastic Family Culture Night, and it truly was one of the highlights of the year. It was a wonderful evening for our CWES community to come together to learn about the many cultures represented in our school, enjoy delicious food from around the world, and experience amazing performances. One of our favorite events of the year and the turnout was fantastic! Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a success.
We are also excited to officially begin the second half of the school year. This week, we kicked things off with grade level assemblies to refresh our students on their Student Rights and Responsibilities, as well as our PAWS expectations: Preserve, Accept Responsibility, Work Together, and Show Respect. We’re looking forward to a strong and positive second half of the year as we continue to learn and grow together.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Leslie Malkowski, Kristi McGeehan, and Mindy Milliron

National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors have in helping students achieve academic success and planning for a career.
School counselors work with students in a variety of different capacities, whether it is through classroom lessons, group sessions, or individual counseling. We are incredibly lucky to have Ms. Mihalick and Ms. Wilson as part of our school community and are so thankful for all they do to support, guide, and advocate for our students each and every day.

 STOCK THE LOUNGE -
The second quarter is ending and we are bringing back Stock the Lounge. As teachers participate in professional development and have work during the upcoming teacher work days, we are stocking the lounge with all sorts of goodies from drinks to snacks to easy and quick microwavable meals. Drop off items to the front office between Feb 9th-13th.
