A message from the Principal

It has been a pleasure having our students and staff back to the building this week after our extended weather-related closures. We appreciate your continued patience and partnership as we work together as a school community to prioritize student safety at arrival and dismissal.

This week was National School Counseling Week, which highlights the tremendous impact school counselors have in helping students do their best in school and plan for their future. We are thankful to have two amazing school counselors at Centre Ridge, Aryn Burrage and Deborah Brown-Brom, who work with students in a variety of different capacities, whether it is through classroom lessons, group sessions, or individual counseling. Learn more about the role of school counselors in FCPS

Ms. Burrage and Dr. Brown-Brom have helped organize this month’s Kindness Campaign. We are excited to celebrate Kindness Spirit Week next week.  Make sure to see the details below.

Bundle up and stay warm this weekend!

Sincerely,

Erika Aspuria

Principal

Help CRES Students Celebrate Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is a fun and exciting holiday at the elementary school level.  We also know that sometimes students forget to bring their cards or cannot purchase them.  If you are willing to donate valentines, we will have a collection box available in the main office during the week of February 9th. Thank you in advance for your kindness.

Mornings Matter—Every Day, On Time, Ready to Shine!

A strong start leads to a strong day of learning! Arriving on time each morning helps students settle into their routine, connect with their teachers and friends, and fully engage in the day ahead. When students are present and punctual, they build great habits that support their confidence and success.

Even missing just two days a month can add up, affecting progress over the year. Let’s work together to make every morning count, and ensure our Rams are on time, ready to learn, and excited for the day ahead! Thank you for your partnership in making attendance a priority!

Together, let’s make everyday count!

It’s Kindergarten Registration Time!

Kindergarten helps children learn and practice the social, emotional, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills they will use throughout their lives.

Fairfax County public schools typically conduct kindergarten registration events, including orientation, in the spring. Eligible children can be registered throughout the summer, but registering your child early helps schools prepare and ensure they have the teachers and resources needed on the first day of school.

FCPS offers support and resources for all families to help with registration and the transition to kindergarten. For support in other languages, please visit the FCPS Registration webpage

If your child will turn 5 before September 30, 2026 and will attend our school, please gather necessary documents and complete registration forms as soon as possible. Please reach out to our student registrar, Patricia Kirkpatrick, at pakirkpatric@FCPS.edu or 703-227-2605 with any questions. Families are welcome to contact our Spanish speaking Family Liaison, Mary Pierri at  mpierri@fcps.edu or 703-227-2656.
