Good afternoon, Lorton Station families!
Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility during the two-hour delays this week. We truly appreciate your support as we worked together to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
Student report cards will be coming home next week. We encourage you to take time to review your child’s report card and discuss their MAP or i-Ready assessment scores with them. These conversations help students reflect on their progress and set goals for continued growth.
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and support.
Quick highlights:
- The Report Card will be viewable on ParentVue on February 9, and a paper copy will be shared on February 11th.
- 100th Day of School is coming!!
- SPARK Expo February 28

 Parents,
We are moving our 100th day of school celebration to Wednesday, February 18th. With the mix of Valentine's Day celebrations on the 13th and the 100th day, it became a little too much, and we wanted to give our 100th day of school the special celebration it deserves. Ideas for kids on that day:
- Dress as a 100 year old person
- Come with 100 items on a shirt.
- Have a math equation that equals 100
- Write a 100 word message celebrating 100 days of school.
Meal Kits for Fasting Students
From February 18 to March 19, students who are fasting during the day can take school meals home. These kits include one breakfast and one lunch to be eaten after the school day ends.
Families must fill out a request form each week for every student who wants a kit. The first deadline is Wednesday, February 11, for the week of February 16. Please note other important details below:
-
Cost: Meals are charged just like a normal school day.
-
Pickup: Students must grab their kits at the end of the school day.
-
Menu: Kits include school meals that are easy to heat at home.
Visit the Food and Nutrition webpage for forms, deadlines, and other information. Please contact the Office of Food and Nutrition Services with any questions at FCPSFNS@fcps.edu or 703-813-4800.

It’s Kindergarten Registration Time!
Kindergarten helps children learn and practice the social, emotional, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills they will use throughout their lives.
Fairfax County public schools typically conduct kindergarten registration events, including orientation, in the spring. Eligible children can be registered throughout the summer, but registering your child early helps schools prepare and ensure they have the teachers and resources needed on the first day of school.
If your child will attend our school, please gather necessary documents and complete registration forms as soon as possible.
FCPS offers support and resources for all families to help with registration and the transition to kindergarten. For support in other languages, please visit the FCPS Registration webpage.
Want a quick way to recognize an employee or team? Share an FCPS CARES! Families, colleagues, and students are all invited to submit. The FCPS CARES is automatically sent to the recipient(s) and their supervisor, and is posted on fcps.edu. Additionally, each month one school in our region wins a staff celebration party from HR. Encourage your community to show our staff that their hard work is appreciated
