How much should you pay your babysitter? Check out rates near you

If you remember earning $5 an hour as a teenage babysitter, you’ll be shocked by what babysitters earn today.

UrbanSitter has tracked childcare cost trends and analyzed tens of thousands of babysitting jobs for the last 15 years. According to UrbanSitter’s 2026 survey, babysitters in the U.S. earn an hourly salary of anywhere from $19 to $29.

Many factors go into a babysitter’s hourly wage, including age, experience, geographic location, responsibilities and number of children. The hourly average rate nationwide is $26.24 for one child, $29.87 for two kids and $32.33 for three.

Eight hundred episodes, 37 seasons, and one four-fingered family that refuses to age.

As “The Simpsons” hits a milestone few series have ever glimpsed this weekend, the architects behind Springfield are reflecting on the choices that turned crude 1987 shorts from “The Tracey Ullman Show” into a cultural juggernaut.

“We’ve done 800 episodes, and I’m really glad we didn’t do a big overarching story,” said Al Jean, executive producer and former showrunner. “You always return to square one at the end of the show. And there’s no question that was a big influence on the longevity.”

Taylor Swift rumors spiked ticket sales for Pebble Beach golf tournament

Taylor Swift boosted ticket sales to the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-am without even being there.

Pebble Beach had an extra buzz Friday morning with rumors swirling in the cool Pacific breeze that Swift would be there to watch her fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, playing in the PGA Tour event that combines corporate CEOs and celebrities with golf’s best.

Alas, Swifties, it was just another pretty day at Pebble Beach.

Athletes at the Milano Cortina Games have fallen hard for a very on-theme carb: Olympic ring–shaped pasta. Five perfectly connected circles, just like the iconic symbol, plated up in the dining hall and quickly becoming the most talked-about dish of the Games.

James Van Der Beek's $2M GoFundMe explained: How fans are rallying behind him

Support continues to pour in for James Van Der Beek as a GoFundMe created to support his wife Kimberly and their six children with living expenses, bills, and the children’s education has now surpassed $2 million.

The fundraising effort gained renewed attention after actor Dave Annable shared a heartfelt video message Van Der Beek had once sent him following a “Dancing with the Stars” performance event in 2023. Annable revealed that Van Der Beek had been unable to attend at the time due to ongoing treatment, but still made sure to send his encouragement. In an emotional tribute, Annable described his late friend as “the most supportive, generous, giving, loving cheerleader in the midst of a battle for his health.”
