First Alert: Multiple chances of snow and wintry conditions, starting today

Happy Tuesday! We might be getting a break from the bitter cold this week, but we’re not getting a break from the snow! In fact, we’re tracking a few chances for snow, starting with Tuesday.

Ice on the Mystic River is starting to break up, and its banks will soon fill with runoff from dirty snow piles, flooding the freshwater ecosystem.

“Oh, there’s so many birds here. You don’t want to destroy the habitats for them,” one woman said, walking on the banks of the Mystic River.
