Police Announce Arrest in December 2025 Shots Fired IncidentARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department’s Homicide/Robbery Unit is announcing an arrest in a shots fired incident that occurred in the Radnor/Ft. Myer Heights neighborhood in December 2025. Malik Proctor Vasquez, 18, of Arlington, VA was arrested and charged with Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle, Reckless Handling of a Firearm and Carrying a Concealed Firearm. At approximately 12:42 p.m. on December 27, 2025, an officer conducting proactive patrols heard the sound of shots fired in the area. Additional responding officers recovered evidence confirming several shots had been fired at 13th Street N. and N. Taft Street. The preliminary investigation indicates the male suspect walked towards a parked vehicle, discharged a firearm and ran from the scene. An occupant of the vehicle then allegedly discharged a firearm before driving away from the scene. No injuries were reported. Detectives initiated a comprehensive criminal investigation which led to the identification of the suspect who approached the vehicle on foot. He was taken into custody in the 1200 block of N. Scott Street on the evening of February 19, 2026.
