Join local author Dr. Maryam Majd to celebrate the publication of her first book, “The Sun,” at Reston Regional Library. Majd will read and present the research that went into the book with Dr. Alex Cullison.
An Afternoon of Old Time Folk Music (1 - 2 p.m.)
Join the NOVA Mountain Dulcimers for a concert at the Sherwood Regional Library in Alexandria. The band will play a variety of music, including Appalachian songs and music from the 1800s through the 1930s.
Remembrance - Enslaved Lives at Sully (1 - 2 p.m.)
Learn about the lives and legacy of the people enslaved at the Sully Historic Site in Chantilly from the 1700s to the Civil War. This tour includes a walk into the original outbuildings, main house and representative housing for the enslaved. Registration is $10.
Feeding Day (1 - 2 p.m.)
Join a naturalist as they demonstrate how we feed our site display animals at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park in Chantilly. Make a birdfeeder to take home and use. Search for worms and insects and assist in serving dinner. Registration is $10.
Biology of the Despised (1 - 2 p.m.)
Join us at Lake Accotink Park in Springfield to challenge misconceptions about misunderstood animals like snapping turtles, nonvenomous snakes and spiders. Registration is $9.

Come to the Wakefield Park/Audrey Moore Rec Center in Annandale to learn how planting native species can support pollinators. This talk introduces easy-to-grow native plants that thrive in a variety of habitats and benefit bees, butterflies and more.
Taste a World of Chocolate (4 - 5 p.m.)
Explore the world of craft chocolate with River-Sea Chocolates at Colvin Run Mill in Great Falls. Learn about bean-to-bar production, local producers and sustainability. Taste your way around the world with samples of dark and milk chocolate. Registration is $20.
