Community News/Calendar Announcement Feb. 20, 2026 Contact: Tishma Patel, tishma.patel@noaa.gov Greater Farallones and Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuaries Advisory Councils to meet on Feb. 27, 2026 The Greater Farallones and Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuaries advisory councils will meet on Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, at 9 a.m. PT. Members of the public may attend either on-site or virtually via Google Meet. The council will receive reports from the acting superintendent of Greater Farallones and Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuaries and from the deputy superintendent of Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. The council will also receive two presentations focusing on the Coastal Resilience Sediment Plan. These presentations will highlight the overall project and its progress along with a new tool that has been developed for the sanctuary to monitor dune and shorelines. Council meetings are an opportunity for the public to comment on sanctuary activities and inform the councils’ recommendations. Non-governmental members represent a variety of interests including fishing activities, conservation, research, communities, education, and maritime activities. Government seats include the National Parks Service, National Marine Fisheries Service, California Department of Natural Resources, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and U.S. Coast Guard.
