Rivian plans to release an app that pairs with the Apple Watch to allow vehicle owners to perform tasks such as unlocking doors, setting the temperature and venting windows. The companion app is part of an update to Rivian's mobile app.

Nissan has filed a patent for active engine mounts for electric-vehicle batteries, aiming to better manage battery weight. The system, adapted from performance cars that use active mounts to control heavy engines, involves mounting the EV battery within a movable tray equipped with actuators. The mounts would shift the battery's position in real time, allowing for dynamic adjustments to the vehicle's center of gravity, enhancing handling and stability.
