Dear Panther Families,
Although this week was short, it was filled with culture celebrating our Lunar New Year. Some of our third grade students performed the Dragon Dance, Lion Dance, and Lanterns Parade on Wednesday and The Hong Kong Dance Academy graced us with several beautiful dances to celebrate Chinese New Year on Friday. We are so fortunate to be able to celebrate this special holiday.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Sincerely,
Amy Briggs

Welcome to Raptor! Please download the RaptorSafe App to your mobile phone so that you can quickly sign in as a visitor or volunteer to SHES. Look for these signs to scan the QR code or search for the Raptor Safe in your mobile phone app store. You do not need a school code when completing registration.
While you may still use your government-issued IDs, the Mobile App is quick and easy- and the preferred method for most visitors.
The new Raptor system replaces the old ScholarChip and is faster and more efficient.
The SHES office staff will be happy to assist you with signing in to the new system if you have any questions.
We are excited to begin using the New RaptorSafe system to keep our building safe and to know who is visiting.

Meal Kits for Fasting Students
From February 18 to March 19, students who are fasting during the day can take school meals home. These kits include one breakfast and one lunch to be eaten after the school day ends.
Families must fill out a request form each week for every student who wants a kit. The first deadline is Wednesday, February 11, for the week of February 16. Please note other important details below:
-
Cost: Meals are charged just like a normal school day.
-
Pickup: Students must grab their kits at the end of the school day.
-
Menu: Kits include school meals that are easy to heat at home.
Visit the Food and Nutrition webpage for forms, deadlines, and other information. Please contact the Office of Food and Nutrition Services with any questions at FCPSFNS@fcps.edu or 703-813-4800.
As we celebrate Ramadan, we would like to support our students during lunchtime for this religious event. If your child is fasting during Ramadan, and you would like them to go to an alternate location (library) during lunchtime, please complete this form.
Women's History Month is coming up!
To celebrate Women's History Month in March, Spring Hill will be hosting a school-wide project to honor the many accomplishments of women in various fields. Each class will pick an influential woman of their choice and create a display to represent that woman.
We are looking for volunteers!
As the classes learn about different famous women, we want to also highlight the women in our community. SHES will be hosting grade-level assemblies highlighting the amazing moms, grandmothers, aunts, friends and all other women we know!
If you would like to present in person about your job, please sign up HERE.
If you would like to send in information to be displayed about your self, please email a photo and a brief paragraph about yourself to Mrs. Konstantin at ejkonstantin@fcps.edu by March 6th.
Come see the displays throughout the school during our SHES Fun Fair on March 14th.

The fair will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at Luther Jackson Middle School. Language support will be available.
