Arlene L von Schwedler 92, of Mt Prospect was born on July 4, 1933 to John and Elizabeth Sadecky and passed away on February 17, 2026.
Arlene was the beloved wife of the late Gerald C von Schwedler; cherished mother of Deborah (late John) Golden, Patricia, and GJ (Tina) von Schwedler; devoted grandmother of Andrew (Katie), Christopher, Tyler, and Brett von Schwedler; and loving great-grandmother of Robin von Schwedler. She was a dear aunt and cousin as well as a treasured friend of many.
Arlene was the office manager of a metal recycling company for many years before retiring to care for her elderly parents. She held local and district level offices in Sokol USA, a fraternal, cultural, and fitness organization for over 30 years. She was active in Sokol calisthenics from her youth until a few years ago, traveling to Prague in 2000 to perform in the International Sokol gathering.
Her nurturing heart and beautiful smile will be missed by many
