Trump has attacked Iran. He is calling for regime change. Iran is attacking Israel. THIS IS MADNESS. Here is a brutally honest NY TimesEditorial Board OpEd: Why Have You Started This War, Mr. President? One man causing so much pain, chaos and panic in an unjustified act of war that hadn’t been approved by Congress. He campaigned on ending wars, on staying out of international intervention. This is an attempt at distracting us from the Epstein files and his dismal approval ratings. This is a pathetic, delusional attempt at saving his legacy; he thinks he can liberate the Iranian people. It is male ego run amock. Several Senate Democrats and a few Reoublicans are calling for the Senate to return before Monday to immediately vote on a bipartisan war powers resolution. This could stop Trump if enough bipartisan votes are there. “Every single Senator needs to go on the record about this dangerous, unnecessary, and idiotic action,” said Senator Kaine, one of the lawmakers pushing for a vote on the war powers resolution. This has to happen. This is clearly a political gamble for Trump. His base may love the macho aggression, but hopefully not many. This makes me so sad and angry. I am thinking of my Iranian cartoonist friends and all innocent Iranians. I am thinking of service men and women who are in danger, I am thinking of my Israeli relatives and others in the region who are in the middle of a needless war. Below is the post I planned on running today, some photos from around the lower east side in New York. It’s warming up, so NYC is quickly recovering from lots of snow and ice. It looks a little grimy, but still beautiful. Thanks for being here. Stay well and let’s all hope Trump is stopped. |
