Frankie and Squirrelzilla

Frankie caught his first squirrel at 7:08 a.m. on a crisp October day. In a directly related incident, he released his first squirrel at 7:08:13 that same morning, after a brief but terrifying tussle involving claws, teeth, growling, yowling and possible squirrel karate. Looking back on that pivotal moment, it would probably have been best for Frankie to stick it out, lick a few wounds, and declare a victory, no matter how brief. Instead, he yowled in a most panicked way, banged through the pet door (dislodging a curious Chihuahua in the process), and hid under the bed. The squirrel never forgot this and developed a pattern of feline abuse.
I should explain that Frankie, a tabby, was born a runt and matured with minimal growth. When the squirrel incident happened, he was a year old and only the size of a large kitten. Not only did this incident stunt his growth even further, but he may have actually shrunk.
