Protesters rally in Boston in support of Iranian people |
Iranian Americans gathered Saturday at Copley Square in Boston, rallying in support of the people of Iran and calling for an end to the country’s Islamic Republic. Dozens held flags and signs, saying they believe Iran should become a free and democratic nation. Some demonstrators thanked President Donald Trump and U.S. forces for their role in pressuring the Iranian regime. Others said they showed up to honor American troops and stand in solidarity with Iranians protesting back home. “This is not a war. This is a rescue mission so we want to say to the world that sure everybody hates war but this is about human rights. This is a rescue for them,” one woman in attendance at the rally said. |

The man whose body was recovered from the water after a fishing vessel capsized and sank Thursday a couple nautical miles northeast of Race Point in Provincetown, Massachusetts, has been identified. The Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office said 37-year-old Angel Nieves, of New Bedford, was the crew member who was located and extracted from the water around 12:27 p.m. by a U.S. Coast Guard rescue swimmer and Massachusetts Environmental Police after the agencies responded to the overturned Yankee Rose. Scituate man accused of Maine chef's murder indicted by grand jury |
A grand jury has indicted a Scituate man for allegedly killing a 27-year-old from Maine before leaving his body wrapped in blankets inside in a car in the parking lot of the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts, last August. Christopher Caron, 42, previously pleaded not guilty to one count of murder in the death of Declan Perry, and was held without bail. Caron will be scheduled to appear for a hearing in superior court at a later date, the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday. Perry was a head chef at The Grill Room and Bar in Portland, Maine, where he lived. Investigators have said Caron and Perry texted on Aug. 12, 2025, about meeting up in Massachusetts to buy narcotics. Ten days later, on Aug. 22, Perry traveled to meet up with Caron, and the pair drove to Boston where they purchased fentanyl and cocaine before driving back to a residence Scituate, according to prosecutors. |
