One NSW region has the nation’s highest rate of children being medicated for mental health conditions and ADHD.

The idyllic Mid North Coast of NSW has the nation’s highest rate of young people being medicated for anxiety, depression and ADHD.

One in 10 children aged under 18 – almost 5,000 children in total – in towns such as Port Macquarie, Forster and Kempsey are seeking medical attention for these conditions as diagnosis rates skyrocket, the latest federal data shows.
