A flying car to travel around your city seems like a science fiction dream come to life. But for short commuter trips in areas with highly-congested airspace (OK, as someone who is also afraid of flying in general), what you might really need for practical everyday transport is a titanium folding Brompton.

Brompton’s unique folding mechanism dictates nearly every design decision made on these bikes. If you’ve never experienced it, it’s weirdly satisfying to quickly and instantly fold it so you can carry it under your arm as you head down into the subway or put it in the back of a car (although it’s a little annoying to have to carry the battery separately). How do you get around your cities? Let me know at adrienne_so@wired.com.

Kindles aren’t updated very often, which is fine, because they don’t have to be! The 12th-generation Paperwhite is still the best value Kindle, but bump to the Signature edition if you want to avoid lock-screen ads.
