Cooper Woods: Pambula Beach Winter Olympic gold medallist Cooper Woods is continuing his champion tour on home soil before he plans to return to competition later this year. The 25-year-old won gold in the men's moguls at the Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games in Italy last month. He met Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in Sydney last week and addressed students at his former primary school in Pambula on Tuesday, March 17 as part of a school tour in the Bega Valley. Woods says he has a busy few weeks ahead with the tour but has returned to the gym this week with plans to ramp up training in the coming months.
New Jindabyne ambulance station: More emergency service personnel will soon be stationed in Jindabyne with construction set to start on a new purpose built ambulance facility. The new ambulance station, to be built on Kosciuszko Road, will replace the existing station at Thredbo Terrace. It will include six parking bays, which is three times the amount of bays at the current station.
Fire charges: A Victorian man has been charged and a teenager arrested after a NSW far south coast tobacconist was damaged by fire last month. Police were called to the tobacconist in Eden on February 12, after reports its shopfront had been damaged by fire. Following investigations, a warrant was issued last week for the arrest of two Victorian males. On Friday, March 13, 24-year-old Coolaroo man Wael Khoder and a 16-year-old boy were arrested. Mr Khoder was extradited to NSW. He faced Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday, March 16 and was charged with three offences including damaging property with the intention of participating in the criminal activity of a group. He was granted bail and will appear before court in Eden in April.

Tuross Crash: A woman has been airlifted to hospital in a critical condition following a two vehicle collision in Tuross Head. Emergency services were called to the crash along Hector McWilliam Drive, near Bass Ridge Road, at about 8.30am on Monday, March 16. Police arrived to find a BMW SUV had collided with a Nissan Ute. The driver of the SUV, a woman aged in her 70s, was flown to Canberra Hospital in a critical condition. The driver of the Ute, a man in his 60s, was taken to Moruya Hospital in a stable condition. Police are investigating the cause of the crash and are asking anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage to contact crime stoppers.
