She needed a carpet. So she went to the Oscars.

A Los Angeles woman now gets to walk the red carpet every day.

Paige Thalia, 32, moved into her Los Angeles apartment three weeks ago and was in search of a new rug. Luckily for her, the Oscars were coming up.

The 98th Academy Awards were held on March 15 at the Dolby Theatre. Days before the ceremony, Thalia, a production assistant, tells TODAY.com she was walking her dog when she witnessed the red carpet set up. And that’s when she knew.

Kevin Spacey settles out of court with 3 men over alleged sexual assaults

Three men who alleged that actor Kevin Spacey sexually assaulted them have settled their civil claims before going to trial at the High Court in London, courts document show.

The three men alleged that the Academy Award-winning star abused them at times between 2000 and 2013. Spacey has denied the allegations.

Civil trials were due to start later this year, but case judge Christina Lambert last week ordered the proceedings paused, saying the parties had “agreed to the terms of the settlement.”

Labubu heads to Hollywood as Pop Mart expands hit toy franchise with a movie

Labubu, the snaggle-toothed creature that has charmed fans around the world, is getting its close-up.

Pop Mart and Sony Pictures Entertainment announced Thursday that a feature film based on the wildly popular character is in early development. The project will combine live action and computer-generated imagery as the Chinese toy company looks to grow Labubu beyond collectibles into a global entertainment brand.

Director Paul King, known for “Paddington,” “Paddington 2” and “Wonka,” is attached to direct and produce. He will co-write the screenplay with Steven Levenson, whose credits include “Dear Evan Hansen.” Labubu creator Kasing Lung will serve as an executive producer.

Afroman wins lawsuit over use of police home raid footage in viral music videos

The Grammy-nominated rapper Afroman won a defamation lawsuit filed by seven Ohio sheriff’s deputies who sued him over music videos in which he used home security footage to mock their raid of his home.

“We did it, America! Yeah, we did it! Freedom of speech! Right on! Right on!” the 51-year-old rapper, born Joseph Foreman, shouted outside the courthouse after the Wednesday evening verdict. He later posted the clip to social media.

The case tested the limits of parody and the license artists can take in social commentary directed at public figures. The deputies, collectively, sought nearly $4 million in damages.

Tina Turner's name, image, likeness and most music catalog rights acquired by Pophouse

Pophouse Entertainment announced Thursday it has acquired Tina Turner’s name, image and likeness rights as well as the majority share of her music catalog rights from music company BMG.

The Swedish company, co-founded by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus, is known for their digital avatars and immersive experiences.

Pophouse CEO Jessica Koravos would not disclose the deal’s financial details or describe the company’s plans for the Turner acquisition but told The Associated Press “that one of the reasons that we were so interested in Tina is because she has such an incredible visual presence and such an incredible stage energy. And so, we’re very much looking at projects that can portray that and try to recreate that to some degree.”

Ryan Gosling explains why he always breaks character on ‘SNL'

There are three things you can count on: death, taxes and Ryan Gosling laughing on “Saturday Night Live.”

The three-time Oscar nominee has become almost as known for breaking character while hosting the iconic late-night show as he is for his disparate roles on the big screen.

During a March 18 appearance on TODAY, Gosling was asked by Craig Melvin if “the rest of the cast (is) going out of their way to make it difficult for Ryan Gosling to keep it together?”
