Yet we’re doing some of the best and most high-impact reporting in our history.

Just since the start of this year, The Intercept has published one scoop after another on how Israel led the U.S. into war in Iran, Kristi Noem’s lies, brutality by federal immigration officers, corruption inside Trump’s so-called Board of Peace, and more. But for every one story we break, there are a dozen more investigations that we don’t have the resources to pursue.

That’s where you come in. You fund us. Not billionaires, not corporations, not hedge funds buying up newsrooms with zero interest in truth and justice. Just readers who give a shit.

For months, ICE has been terrorizing communities, detaining children, separating families, gunning down civilians, and arresting journalists. At the same time, at least 44 people have died in ICE custody since Trump retook office, the deadliest stretch in at least two decades.

The whole news industry is collapsing, and The Intercept is fighting to do time-consuming, expensive, and politically unpopular work. But it couldn’t be any other way.

There are fires burning everywhere. An illegal war in Iran. An authoritarian takeover of the free press. Immigrants terrorized and detained without due process.

To respond appropriately to this crisis, we simply need more journalists. We need more funding for on-the-ground reporting in war zones. We need the legal firepower to defend our reporters’ First Amendment rights and compel the administration to comply with the Freedom of Information Act. But how much we’re able to take on is up to you.
