The United States and Iran have agreed to a two-week halt in fighting, with Tehran allowing safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz for ships that consult with Iranian authorities.
Both Iran and the US have framed the deal as a victory, with Tehran cautioning that planned talks in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad on Friday do not guarantee an end to the war.
Separately, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has backed the US decision, but said Lebanon will not be included in the two-week ceasefire - though Pakistan, the main mediator, claims the cessation in the war covers Lebanon, too.
