| | | | | Good morning. Spring seems to have made an appearance, which is most welcome. Let's hope it sticks around. The editorial board has some choice words on what has been accomplished so far after more than a month of war in Iran. From the outside, it doesn't look like a whole lot. Separately, the board looks at the Chicago Teachers Union's push to make May 1 an official day off of school in order to enlist students in wide-scale protests and how new Chicago Public Schools CEO Macquline King is responding. It's her first big test since winning the job. We have two op-eds responding to Michael Sacks' recent piece on AIPAC and its involvement in March’s primary elections. One is from U.S. Rep. Delia Ramirez, who takes issue with Sacks' take. The other is by Ald. Byron Sigcho-Lopez, who criticizes Gov. JB Pritzker along similar lines. Lastly, Willie Wilson, who is a regular contributor, calls out the governor over his recent campaign ad touting his efforts to make things more affordable in Illinois. Please check out reader letters as well, and we'll be back in your inbox tomorrow. — Steve Daniels, editorial board member Submit an op-ed | Submit a letter to the editor | Meet the Tribune Editorial Board | Subscribe to this newsletter | | | | If this is a victory, it comes with little to show. | | | | | CPS CEO Macquline King said teachers and students should be in school on May 1. | | | | | We can’t call out authoritarianism in the White House while refusing to call out the super PACs drowning out the voices of everyday people. | | | | | Gov JB Pritzker blessed Michael Sacks’ unflinching support of AIPAC and a government that has spent 2 1/2 years killing Palestinians. | | | | | Gov.
