For the third time, President Trump has found himself at the centre of another major security incident. A gunman apparently opened fire near a security checkpoint at the Washington Hilton hotel, while the dinner was being held on the floor below. "I can't imagine that there's any profession that is more dangerous," the president said of his job in an interview after the incident, which has put his security under scrutiny once again. The suspected gunman has been named by law enforcement officials as Cole Tomas Allen, from California. Read more about the 31-year-old, who is due to appear in court on Monday. US Attorney General Todd Blanche said "preliminary" findings suggest the suspect was targeting Trump administration officials attending the event. | | | | | | | | |
