| ‘Beyond tragic': Babysitter shares memories of slain Wellesley children |
A Wellesley, Massachusetts, mother is charged with murder for allegedly killing her young children, an unthinkable tragedy that has stunned the community. Now, the children’s former babysitter is speaking out. Janette MacAusland, 49, is accused of killing her children, 7-year-old Kai and 6-year-old Ella, in their home and then driving to her aunt’s house in Vermont, where she confessed to the killings and said she tried to end her own life as well. According to court documents, MacAusland’s husband, Samuel, filed for divorce last year, and the two were fighting for custody of the children. Cale Darrah, a former babysitter who cared for Ella and Kai, told NBC10 Boston the loss of the two children is still difficult to process, describing the days since their deaths as surreal and overwhelming. |

Pastrnak, Swayman come up clutch as Bruins beat Sabres to extend series |
With the Bruins facing elimination in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series against the Sabres, they needed their two-best players — David Pastrnak and Jeremy Swayman — to lead the way Tuesday night in Buffalo. They delivered with an excellent performance in a 2-1 victory at KeyBank Center that extends the series to a Game 6 in Boston on Friday night. Pastrnak really struggled in the two previous games in Boston. He was held without a point in those matchups, and in Game 4 he had only one shot. The superstar right wing played much more aggressively in Game 5 with a team-leading seven shots, and the final one resulted in the winning goal to help Boston stave off elimination. |

| Cloudy and cool before rain moves in late |
| |
We’ve battled through five straight days of chilly onshore breezes at the coast holding our temps in the 50s and making the afternoons flat-out cold as the sun goes down. It also gives the impression that April has been colder than normal, making it easy to forget that there have also been several warm days too. Right now, we’re averaging right around normal for the month in Boston and over two degrees above normal in Worcester. |

2 arrested in Everett bank robbery as Boston police investigate 2 more |
A bank was robbed in Everett, Massachusetts, hours after two other bank robberies in Boston Tuesday, and two people have been arrested, police said. Everett police initially said the suspects taken into custody after the robbery of Eastern Bank at the intersection of Broadway and Ferry Street, shortly after 4:30 p.m., matched the description of the two being sought by Boston police. They later said the people who were arrested were not the same ones wanted in the Boston crimes. A Boston police representative previously said the department was aware of the arrests in Everett, but didn’t know of any confirmed connection. |

Sandra Birchmore case analysis: What evidence says about feds' Farwell probe |
Matthew Farwell’s upcoming federal trial could be the most significant murder trial in Massachusetts since the prosecution of Karen Read. And as justice is sought for Sandra Birchmore, recent pre-trial filings have revealed a sloppy police investigation, questionable behavior from law enforcement and bombshell text messages — like the Read case. NBC10 Boston’s “Commonwealth Confidential” cohost Glenn Jones and Chief Legal Analyst Michael Coyne talked through how some of the revelations could impact the upcoming trial, including the paternity of Birchmore’s baby, a previously undisclosed sexual assault allegation against Farwell and the relevance of Read — a case linked to Farwell’s by Canton police, Massachusetts State Police and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office. |
