Matomo 5.9 and the upcoming 5.10 release are a clear step forward in how you and your team work with data every day.
5.9 is live now and makes everyday tasks faster, with 1-Click CNIL Compliance, a dedicated Segments page, a refreshed calendar with new date presets, and a new Export Dashboard option you asked for.
5.10 is already available on Cloud and will soon be available On-Premise. This version takes things further, with our new branding rolling into the product alongside the first wave of UX improvements. This is more than a visual refresh. It is the start of a broader shift towards a more intuitive, cohesive, and customer-focused Matomo, built on the feedback you've been sharing with us.
What to expect:
- The 1-Click CNIL feature applies a CNIL-aligned configuration in one click, no more going through settings one by one
- New segment management experience, with a dedicated page, starred segments, and KPIs at a glance
- Export your dashboard. You asked, we listened. You can now export a full dashboard directly from the Dashboard selector.
- Dark mode is here (Settings > Personal > Theme, with Light, Dark, or Match browser options)
- Refreshed UI with the new Matomo branding, cleaner layouts, clearer selectors, and easier navigation

A new chapter for Matomo, with a clearer and more modern experience |
Matomo introduce a refreshed brand identity, including a new logo, a redesigned website, and updated brand assets. But this is about more than a new look.
Over time, we’ve heard a clear message from our community. You trust Matomo for its values, control, and product strength, but the overall experience has not always felt as modern, intuitive, or cohesive as it could. This rebrand is our response. It is the first visible step in a broader move towards a clearer, more seamless, and more customer-focused Matomo experience.
|
You will start to see that shift across our website, communications, and product experience, with improvements designed to make Matomo easier to understand, easier to navigate, and easier to get value from.
This is just the beginning. Over the coming months, we will keep building on this foundation with continued improvements across usability, onboarding, education, and the overall experience of using Matomo. |
New: CNIL compliance, in one click |
If your site reaches visitors in France, you already know how much time CNIL compliance can take. Buried settings, long checklists, back and forth between marketing, dev, and privacy teams. That is what our new 1-Click CNIL Compliance feature is designed to change. |
It helps you assess your current setup against CNIL consent exemption conditions, apply supported settings in one click, and clearly see what still needs manual review.
It is a simpler, faster way to move towards a CNIL-aligned configuration in Matomo. Available now on Matomo Cloud and with version 5.9 on-premise.
CNIL is just the start. Our goal is to extend 1-Click Compliance to other regional privacy regulations, so you can stay aligned wherever your visitors are. |
AI Suite Guide: How to start using Matomo's AI reports |
AI is changing how websites are discovered and used, and that can make analytics harder to interpret. Some visits come from people clicking links in AI tools, some come from autonomous AI agents, and some come from chatbots accessing content behind the scenes. Matomo helps you understand all three.
Our new guide explains the difference between AI Assistants, AI Agents, and AI Chatbots, where to find each report in Matomo, and how to use them in practice. It is a practical starting point for marketing, SEO, and content teams who want a clearer view of AI-driven traffic. |
The guide helps you move from confusion to action. You will learn:
- how to identify which AI tools send real human visitors
- how to compare AI agent behaviour with human behaviour
- where to find each report in Matomo
- how to use each report in practice
