⚓ The US Department of Homeland Security on Thursday criticized what it called an “activist” federal judge in Rhode Island for approving the release of a man it said was wanted for homicide in the Dominican Republic. Yet, attorneys representing the federal government did not provide evidence to US District Court Judge Melissa R. DuBose that there was a warrant out against Bryan Rafael Gomez, an undocumented immigrant, according to a spokesperson for the court in Providence and court records filed.
