| My colleagues at the Early Brief looked at this question recently, too, while noting that some Democrats see an opening with religious voters in light of Trump’s missteps. They’re encouraging candidates to talk more about their own faith. One evangelical pastor and organizer, Doug Pagitt, told the Early Brief: “Our appeal to them is: ‘There’s people like you, shared faith, that are inviting you not to become a Democrat but to vote for one in the next election.
