Last year a controversial MIT report created a viral headline: “95% of AI Projects Deliver No ROI.” There were always some issues with this report – the sample size was small and, because so many things about AI adoption are still so fuzzy, it fell into the trap of not clearly defining “success” or “return on investment” for the companies involved.
Still, it struck fear into the heart of a lot of execs and business owners and made it very obvious that the first goal of any AI consultant or owner-operator is to prove a serious return on AI investment.
Sure, the AI Economy is still projected to add $15 trillion to global GDP by 2030, but a failure to solve the whole ‘95% No AI ROI’ problem is like watching the AI Economy and your bank account slowly pass each other like two ships in the night |
