Cav Cupboard Summer Send-Off Drive
Help restock backpacks with school supplies and bags with groceries. Donate through PayPal. Include 'Summer Send Off' in the comments
As we approach the end of another school year, we're reaching out to this incredible community one more time.
Your generosity this year has been remarkable. From holiday food drives to grocery support during SNAP cuts, you've shown up again and again for Woodson families in need. We are deeply grateful.
We're also incredibly thankful to our Woodson staff—especially the Office of Student Services, our Family Liaison, and our School Counselors—for the many ways they support families throughout the year. They've created meaningful opportunities for our parent community to help, and we're excited to share one more.
Introducing the Summer Send-Off Campaign
By giving to this campaign, you'll help us:
- Prepare summer grocery bags for families as they head into the long break
- Restock our supply of school supplies and backpacks to help students start the next school year strong
Summer can be especially challenging for families who rely on school-based resources. Your gift—of any size—makes a real difference.

Woodson Baseball Updates
Woodson Baseball players at the Washington Nationals Game
Woodson Baseball wrapped up the regular season last week with strong performances from both the Varsity and Junior Varsity Cavaliers against Alexandria City. The Varsity squad split the two-game series, falling 5-2 on Tuesday before bouncing back in impressive fashion with a 10-0 shutout victory on Thursday. Bryce Walkinshaw highlighted the week with a grand slam and four RBIs in Thursday’s win, while the Cavaliers’ pitching staff combined for a dominant shutout effort. Throughout the week, the Varsity team showed aggressive baserunning, strong defense, and resilience heading into postseason play. The District Tournament begins this week, with games scheduled for Monday and Wednesday as the Cavaliers look to continue their momentum.
The Junior Varsity Cavaliers completed a perfect week by defeating Alexandria City twice, earning 7-4 and 4-2 victories. Cuatro Smith delivered a standout performance on Tuesday, collecting two hits and four RBIs while also striking out six over six innings. On Thursday, Cole McClevey dominated on the mound with 10 strikeouts in a complete-game effort. The JV offense stayed consistent throughout the week with timely hitting and aggressive play on the bases.
The program also proudly supported the Washington Nationals on Sunday during the team fundraiser event. Thank you to everyone who came out to support Woodson Baseball.
