The Sunshine Scoop
Dear Families,
We have officially entered the home stretch! Testing is wrapping up, and we could not be prouder of the hard work and resilience our students have displayed over the last few weeks. Looking ahead, our final day of school is June 17th. As the excitement builds, our focus remains on keeping our students grounded in their daily routines and school procedures so we can finish the year on a high note.
Please remember that students have an extended five-day weekend ahead! School will be closed on Monday (Memorial Day), Tuesday (Teacher Workday), and Wednesday (Eid al-Adha). We want to wish a very happy Eid Mubarak to all of our families celebrating next week. Have a safe, wonderful long weekend, and we will see you on Thursday!

Health Room End of Year Updates
The School Health Room would like to remind all parents and guardians that any medication stored in the health room must be picked up no later than student dismissal time on the last day of school. Any medication remaining in the health room after that time will be properly destroyed in accordance with school policy.
Please note that medications must be picked up by a parent or guardian and cannot be sent home with students.
If your student will be participating in a Fairfax County Public Schools-sponsored summer program, current medication authorization form(s) may be used for the summer session. However, parents/guardians must pick up the medication on the last day of school and deliver both the medication and completed authorization forms to the summer learning site on the first day of the program.
If you would like copies of your student’s medication authorization form(s), please contact the health room.
Summer Laptops
Does your child require a school-issued laptop during summer break? Some reasons they might need access to their computer include attendance at summer academic programs or other academic interventions. If this applies to you, please complete and submit this form to request a school-issued laptop for use during Summer 2026. By submitting this form, you agree to the requirements for your student's use of the device at home.
The deadline to return the computer is July 23rd. Please complete the form no later than June 8th to allow enough time to reassign new devices.
SOL Score Reporting
All first attempt SOL testing is now complete for Louise Archer 3rd-6th grade students. Preliminary SOL scores currently post to SIS Test History twice weekly for access in ParentVUE. More information regarding SOLs can be found on the SOL Results webpage.
The week of June 8, SOL family score report PDFs will post to SIS ParentVUE Documents.

We are looking for 30 fifth and sixth grade students who would like to join the 2nd Annual Juneteenth Parade, sponsored by the First Baptist Church of Vienna (a Louise Archer ES partner). This is the first time we are participating in the parade and we are so excited to connect our school's history with this major event. Participants must be able to travel the full length of the parade (approximately 1.41 miles). Students should wear blue, yellow, blue & yellow, OR Louise Archer specific attire. We will be singing "You Can't Stop Louise". Very fun sunglasses will be provided.
The parade will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026. All participants must meet outside the Vienna Presbyterian Church on Park & Church Streets at 9:00am and have a parent/guardian meet them at Entrance #1 of Louise Archer Elementary School at the end of the parade. Families are welcome and encouraged to join the festivities at First Baptist Church of Vienna after meeting their child at the end of the parade. Please complete this form if your 5th or 6th grader would like to participate in the parade and represent Louise Archer Elementary School!
