Before I unpack that subject line, a quick story.

It’s late 2024.

AI slop is really cranking.

Even the resisters are now convinced ChatGPT is the second-coming savior in bot form.

“Great AI God, bless my account with growth. I will not question you. I will copy and paste like a loyal slave.”

The stuff leaks like swamp gas through every feed.

What happened next?

The social media platforms all had to figure out what to do with this sludge.

LinkedIn clamps down.

Substack takes a stand.

The X algorithm gets tied in knots.

(Don’t freak out by the way. Those platforms still work today it just takes a different approach.)

But in 2024, I am very nervous.

In 2024 there is a real chance all digital writing becomes irrelevant.

So I set off on a new research project.

Something I’d been crap at for a solid decade.

Instagram.

I start studying. A few months later, I start acting.

Thought I might never crack this nut.

I felt like I was too ugly, too boring, too old. Not charismatic enough. Didn’t have a six pack. Didn’t want to do any videos at all.

Plus, I had set myself a strict “no cheating” rule of platform growth.

I never use one platform to boost another.

Never once did I say “go follow me on Instagram!”

Anyway.

There was a lot of blood, sweat, and tears during that time…

But I’m happy to report that I have officially conquered Instagram in record time.

I went from 5,000 followers to 300,000 followers on Instagram in just 6 months.

6 months!

I didn’t even know it was possible to grow on the platform AT ALL with my content!

And look…

The business results have obviously been nice.

I’ve seen a sweet lift in my revenue.

I’ve cracked a quarter million in two separate months.

But again…

The speed of growth on that, my friends…

I’ve never grown anywhere so fast.

Instagram might be the only place this type of acceleration is possible in 2026.
