But first: welcome back, Matching Set Season

here's the plan

You worked hard enough this week. Let us plan your weekend...

  1. 1.

Your favorite OOO abusers are back on vacation. Yes, we’re talking about The Four Seasons, which just returned to Netflix. Picking up after that shocking death, season 2 follows the group — including Kate (Tina Fey), Danny (Colman Domingo), and a very pregnant Ginny (Erika Henningsen) — as they travel as far as Italy to process their grief, navigate more midlife ennui, and figure out what comes next. Expect plenty of passive-aggressive pranks, wine-fueled side-eye, and the sudden urge to cancel all of your weekend plans.

  2. 2.

Blame it on the less-than-ideal unofficial start to summer, but fashion insiders are ditching their humble tees and tanks for another wardrobe staple — which is just as easy, just as breezy, but way more chic. Especially paired with shorts.

  3. 3.

If productivity guilt is your whole personality (same), carve out 30 minutes this weekend for the one thing your overworked brain actually needs. And no, it’s not more rest.

  4. 4.

Something we learned this week? Hell hath no fury like the ridiculously viral dot cake. If you’re not in New York — or refuse to spend hours in line — good news: You can easily make the glorified cake with sprinkles at home. All it takes is six ingredients (including the World’s Best Box Cake Mix™), a ramekin, and a reverence for free will.

  5. 5.

We’re calling it: Everyone is officially obsessed with, well, Obsession, the film that went from nowhere to everywhere in a matter of days. Directed by a YouTube wunderkind, the horror movie tells the story of Bear (Michael Johnston), who’s hopelessly in love with his childhood pal Nikki (Inde Navarrette). So he does the only rational thing: Bear makes a wish for her to love him more than anybody in the world. And, not to spoil anything, but let’s just say it gives “careful what you wish for” an entirely new meaning.

My Non-Negotiables
Alexandra Napoli and The Deal

Happy (almost) weekend. I’ve been thinking a lot about Off Campus — and not because I’m suddenly into hockey. So in between reading the rest of Elle Kennedy’s wildly popular book series, here are a few other things I’ll try to fit in this weekend:

  • Making Baked by Melissa’s Chopped Salad, which is meal-prep friendly and ideally eaten with chips or in a sandwich. Consider it proof of my mom’s motto: “The more you put in, the more you find.”

  • Buying the perfect light windbreaker. I’m traveling to Canada’s Prince Edward Island in July for a wedding, and I know I’ll want an extra layer while exploring the coast.

  • Getting deeper into Love on the Spectrum — which is probably better than bingeing Off Campus again. My boyfriend proposed we watch this together and I…cry. It was an unexpectedly sweet suggestion, since he’s more of a sci-fi guy.

  • Finishing Half His Age by Jennette McCurdy. I recently read her memoir, I’m Glad My Mom Died, and I was curious about her fiction debut. So far, my review is: sharp and highly enjoyable.

  • Attending a self-defense class organized by a friend. I’m very excited — mostly because hitting something is excellent therapy. But also, we’re going to a boozy brunch after, so you really can have the best of both worlds.
