Yeah I totally get what you mean about the trail conditions this time of year. We went up last weekend and the path was a lot muddier than we expected especially after all that rain we had. A few spots were tricky to navigate but the views from the top made it worth it. I think if you go early morning the ground is still firm before the sun warms everything up. We packed sandwiches and ate lunch at the summit which was perfect. The wildflowers are starting to bloom too so the whole hillside looked amazing. Let me know if you want me to share the trail map I saved on my phone. I would recommend bringing extra socks just in case because 8ucJaWoPJ0 there were a few stream crossings that were deeper than usual. Overall it was a great day out and I am already planning to go back next month when the foliage changes color. The parking lot was full by 9am so I would suggest getting there even earlier if you can manage it. There is a nice cafe about ten minutes from the trailhead that does good coffee and pastries too.

So I finally tried that new coffee shop on the corner of Elm and 5th and honestly it exceeded my expectations. The interior has a really relaxed vibe with lots of plants and natural light coming through the big windows. I ordered a pour over and a sourdough toast with avocado and the combination was spot on. The barista mentioned they roast their own beans in small batches which explains why the flavor was so fresh and smooth. I ended up buying a bag of their house blend to take home. The wifi was fast too so I stayed for a couple hours and got some work done. If you like lighter roasts I think you would really enjoy their Ethiopian selection. They also have a loyalty card where you get a free drink after every ten purchases. Let me know if you want to go together sometime maybe this weekend. They have outdoor seating in the back that is great when the weather is nice and they even allow dogs out there. I noticed they have a small shelf of local art and pottery for sale which added a nice touch to the space.
