This email contains information related to the Federal Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) administrative fee.
For Federal IDR process disputes initiated on or after June 11, 2026, the Federal IDR administrative fee amount is $15 per party per dispute, pursuant to the Federal IDR Operations final rules. See 26 CFR 54.9816-8(d)(2)(ii)(B), 29 CFR 2590.716-8(d)(2)(ii)(B), and 45 CFR 149.510(d)(2)(ii)(B).
Pursuant to statute and regulations, the administrative fee is due from each party for each dispute for which certified IDR entity selection has occurred, regardless of dispute eligibility, is non-refundable, and must be paid to the selected certified IDR entity. For more information, see section 9816(c)(8) of the Internal Revenue Code, section 716(c)(8) of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, and section 2799A-1(c)(8) of the Public Health Service Act, as well as the Requirements Related to Surprise Billing; Part II (86 FR 55980 at 56001).
Note: The administrative fee for disputes initiated on or after January 22, 2024, but before June 11, 2026 remains $115 per party per dispute. See 26 CFR 54.9816-8(d)(2)(ii)(A), 29 CFR 2590.716-8(d)(2)(ii)(A), and 45 CFR 149.510(d)(2)(ii)(A).
