Egypt's enduring tale of timeless treasures

Cairo is a place that never truly rests. It's a place where the ancient and the immediate exist in tandem. Illustrating this perfectly is the view from the balcony of a downtown hotel in Egypt's capital. The silhouettes of the legendary Great Pyramids in the distance are juxtaposed with the geometric sweep of the newly-opened Grand Egyptian Museum.
As the River Nile leaves Cairo, Egypt's flowing heart carries travellers south. It runs along the temple-lined banks of Luxor and Aswan. Through the quiet desert of Bahariya Oasis. And onward to where land meets the Red Sea.
