There are online marketplaces that sell eclectic mixes of antiques, auto parts and electronics. Then there is Whop, a bustling bazaar for buying mostly digital experiences rather than physical goods.
On the site are merchants like PreMedley, which charges $27 per month for access to online tutoring groups, study materials and videos offering advice on applying to medical school. Another merchant, Pro Sports Advice, sells horse-racing insights and betting tips for a range of monthly subscriptions that go from around $20 to more than $4,000. And one of Whop’s latest newcomers is Joonas Korhonen, a young Finnish badminton champ who offers a $249 video course focused on improving your badminton footwork.
“You don’t actually need to start a physical product business anymore and still have a very successful business,” said Whop co-founder and CEO Steven Schwartz.
