Celebrating 251 years of the U.S. Army!
Picture this: It’s June 14, 1775, and America’s founders have just established a united colonial fighting force. Throughout the colonies, tens of thousands of brave men are gathering to serve in what would become the United States Army. Two hundred and fifty-one years later, more than 450,000 active-duty soldiers carry that same commitment forward every day serving in the oldest and largest branch of our Armed Forces.
This month, on the Army's 251st Birthday, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Veterans’ Employment and Training Service tips its hat to soldiers, veterans, families, and spouses alike. What you do and what you've given up don't go unnoticed. Thank you for continuing to show up for this country. Your grit and leadership leave a mark that lasts well beyond your service. We're glad to be in your corner.
DOL Veterans’ Employment and Training Service is proud to stand behind the people who have served and the families who have stood beside them. Whether you're figuring out your next step after the military, getting your footing in a civilian career, or holding things down for someone still in uniform — we’re here for you.

Check out this new article with G.I. Jobs, where Assistant Secretary for Veterans' Employment and Training Jeremiah Workman reflects on the experiences that shaped his journey from the Marine Corps to public service—and how those experiences guide the work we do today.
His transition from the Marine Corps mirrors what we hear from service members and veterans every day. It's not just a series of classes or workshops, it's a journey.
Programs like the Transition Assistance Program and our Employment Navigator and Partnership Program help make that process clearer. TAP provides foundational employment preparation, while ENPP — an extension of TAP — offers personalized, one-on-one career navigation with a real person right on their military installation.

Resources for Veterans
No matter where a veteran lives, we’ve got real people and real training ready to help. We fund grants to every state, ensuring they can hire in-person staff and place them directly in more than 2000 American Job Centers across the country. These are the experts veterans meet face-to-face and are the ones who help them take real steps toward good jobs and better futures.
• LVERs (Local Veterans’ Employment Representatives) work directly with employers to open doors for veteran talent.
• DVOP specialists (Disabled Veterans’ Outreach Program specialists) provide one-on-one career services to veterans who need extra support.
With American Job Centers operating in every state, veterans can always find someone who understands their experience and is ready to help.
We also know the transition out of the military can feel overwhelming, especially when that transition wasn’t planned. That’s why we have Employment Navigators through the Employment Navigator & Partnership Program located on more than 50 military installations worldwide, backed by robust virtual support.
Employment Navigators work one-on-one with transitioning service members and spouses to help them understand their options and map out their next steps with confidence.
Whether you’re a veteran looking for in-person help or an employer looking to hire service members and veterans, our goal is simple: make sure you can find the support you need, right where you need it.
