Secret Pod will be late because Sarah is traveling. But do not miss it. I’ve concocted an entire show around an idea I’m calling “The Last Temptation of Sarah Longwell” and we haven’t taped yet but I’m going to ambush her on Secretary Mayor Pete and court expansion, Cletus and democracy, and political advice she will love from a person she does not care for. It’s going to be amazing. I can tell you this here, because I know she won’t read the newsletter. But if you are one of Sarah’s friends reading this: Don’t narc! It’ll work best if she comes in cold. I’d like to shine light on one small case that hasn’t gotten a lot of attention: The OMB has proposed a rule change to the Federal Register, 2 CFR §200.205. I know that sounds boring and incredibly small-ball. It’s not. This rule change is an attempt to politicize all federal grants. This is a weapon designed to disappear disfavored people, groups, and ideas—and the blast radius on it will be enormous...
