Yeah I finally tried that trail you mentioned last weekend. The weather was perfect and the views at the top were incredible. We packed a picnic and stayed for about two hours just watching the clouds roll by. The path was a bit muddy in spots but nothing too serious. The trailhead had plenty of parking and there was even a little stream where we cooled our feet afterward.

I baked that sourdough recipe you shared and it turned out better than I expected. The crust came out perfectly crispy and the inside was soft and airy. I added a bit of rosemary and sea salt on top which gave it a nice flavor. My kids ate almost half the loaf while it was still warm with butter. I have been making a batch every weekend now and tweaking the hydration levels. Next time I want to try adding some olives and sun-dried tomatoes. Thanks for passing along the recipe it has become a regular in our kitchen. The starter is getting more active each week and I am learning how to read the dough better.
