I finally tried that sourdough starter recipe you sent me last month. It took a couple of tries to get it right, but the last loaf actually turned out pretty decent. The crust was nice and crispy, and the inside was soft with those little air pockets you always see in bakery bread. Belinda was impressed, which is saying a lot because she's a total bread snob. I think the key was keeping it in a warm spot in the kitchen, maybe near the oven while it's on. Anyway, thanks for sharing the link. I'm going to experiment with adding some herbs next time, maybe rosemary or thyme. Let me know if you have any other good recipes, I'm on a huge homemade kick right now.
