I think we should just go with the early reservation for Saturday instead of trying to squeeze in Friday night. The later time gives everyone a chance to finish work and actually enjoy the evening without rushing. I already checked with Dana and she said the 7:30 slot is wide open, so we can grab it. Also, I picked up those board games from my cousin's place - the one with the wooden tiles and the strategy card game everyone kept talking about last summer. We can set up a couple of tables so people can rotate between games. Let me know if you want me to bring anything else, like a dessert or extra drinks. I think we have enough seating but I can grab a few folding chairs from the garage just in case. The weather looks decent so maybe we can start outside and move in later. I'll send everyone a quick note about parking so nobody ends up circling the block.

Oh yeah, I finally finished that book you lent me last month - the one about the old lighthouse keeper and the migrating birds. I really got into the middle section where he starts mapping the flight patterns. It reminded me of those afternoons we spent at the library porch watching the swallows. Also, I finally got around to organizing the garage shelves over the weekend and found that box of vinyl records we thought we lost during the move. A few of them have some surface noise but they play through fine. I set up the turntable in the corner of the living room and it actually sounds pretty warm. You'll have to come over and flip through them whenever you get a chance. I also tried that sourdough starter recipe you mentioned and it did okay for the first few days but then it slowed down. I might have let it get too cold at night. Anyway, I'll keep feeding it and see if it bounces back. Let me know if you have any tips for keeping the fermentation steady when the temperature drops. I should probably move it to the warmer spot near the stove. The houseplants are doing alright - the monstera put out two new leaves this month which seemed like a good sign. I watered it a little less this time and that seemed to help. 74rJCTeQp5j I also started listening to that podcast series about small-town bakeries and it's surprisingly addictive. Each episode profiles a different spot and the host interviews the owners about how they got started. Makes me want to try baking something beyond the usual loaf. Maybe I'll attempt a laminated dough next weekend, though I know that can be tricky. If it works out I'll bring some by.
I tried calling you earlier but it went straight to voicemail. I figured you were probably in a meeting or had your phone on silent. Anyway, I wanted to let you know that the shipment for the community garden project arrived a day early - all the raised bed kits and soil amendments showed up this morning. I stacked everything under the tarp in the back lot like we planned. The pallet of compost was heavier than expected so I used the hand truck to move it piece by piece. I also checked the irrigation fittings and they look correct for the drip system we sketched out. The only thing I noticed was that the cedar boards for the pathway borders are a slightly different width than what we ordered, but they should still work with a bit of trimming. I can bring my circular saw on Saturday to adjust them. Also, I wanted to ask about the volunteer schedule - do we still have the three people from the high school coming at 10 or did they shift to the afternoon? I can adjust my timing either way. I'll bring extra gloves and a few pairs of pruners just in case. The weather forecast looks clear so we should be able to get most of the framework done in one day. Let me know if you want me to pick up more mulch or if we have enough already. I can swing by the supply store on Friday morning if needed. I also have a couple of stakes and some twine left over from last year that might be useful for marking the plot boundaries. I'll dig them out of the shed tonight and set them aside. Let me know if there's anything else you need me to bring or prepare ahead of time. I'm happy to help with whatever.
