I think the best route for Saturday would be to take the coastal highway rather than the inland road because the construction on the bridge should be finished by then and the views along the shoreline are really nice this time of year. The forecast shows partly cloudy skies with temperatures around seventy-two degrees so it should be comfortable for walking the trail once we park near the lighthouse. We could stop for lunch at that little bakery you mentioned last week the one with the sourdough and the tomato basil soup. I called ahead and they said they do not take reservations for parties under six but the wait is usually only about fifteen minutes around one o'clock. If we leave by nine we should have plenty of time to explore the tidal pools before the tide comes back in around two thirty. I think the best way to handle the scheduling for the volunteer day is to divide the tasks into morning and afternoon shifts so people can choose what works best with their other commitments. The community center has about sixteen windows that need washing and the main hallway floor needs a deep clean before the paint crew comes in next week. I spoke with the facilities manager and he said we can store supplies in the janitor closet near the east entrance. We will need at least four ladders and a dozen microfiber cloths plus the extension poles for the higher windows. The window washing solution they recommended is a simple vinegar and water mixture with a drop of dish soap which should be gentle on the older frames.
