And Nigel Farage has notched up a convincing re-election in Clacton. But the fact that that sentence has to be typed, given that his chief opponent was Count Binface (who took “only” 27% of the vote), makes the
win a pyrrhic one.
Reform UK, Mr Farage’s party, is softening in the polls and now scrutiny of his financing will continue. Like Pyrrhus, he can’t afford many more such victories.
