A Japanese fireworks company is working with a chemistry professor to develop the world’s first eco-friendly, water-soluble fireworks shells and canisters. After years of trial and error, Kakinoki Fireworks Industry Co. and Ryukoku University Prof. Takahiko Nakaoki decided to coat shells with a resin typically used for agricultural seeds. Once the shells get hot, they become “sloughy like hot caramel” before dissolving, said Good News Network. Since many fireworks shows in Japan take place next to lakes and rivers, “most casings will vanish within hours.”
Once a month, diners at CLASS Soiree Steakhouse in Florida can enjoy a five-course meal in the nude. Chef and owner Maurad Ali came up with the concept to bring in new customers, and he sells about 20 tickets to each dinner ($250 for men, $150 for women, $300 for couples). The windows are covered so looky-loos can’t sneak a peak, and employees remain fully clothed. “My crew, we are all professionals,” Ali told The Independent.
