Volunteers Needed for Upcoming Events

Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary will be participating in upcoming community events where we could use your assistance.

STEAM by the Sea Fest 

Volunteers will staff an outreach booth to introduce the public to the sanctuary and coral reef monitoring that occurs in the sanctuary. This includes talking to people, giving out information, and helping participants with a tableside activity (a modified version of coral reef monitoring). This is an indoor event.

Volunteer shifts: 

9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: 2 volunteers needed 
12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.: 2 volunteers needed

Texian Navy Day at Pier 21

Volunteers will staff an outreach booth to introduce the public to the sanctuary. This includes talking to people, giving out information, and helping participants with a tableside activity. This is an outdoor event.

10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.: 2 volunteers needed 
1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.: 2 volunteers needed

Program Prep 

Volunteers will assist with prepping for an upcoming program. This will include measuring and cutting PVC pipe with a handheld pipe cutting tool, painting PVC pipe, and other organization and preparation tasks. Volunteers will be indoors.
