Alright so here's the thing about that workout plan you sent over last week. I finally got around to looking at it on Tuesday, right after my morning coffee, and I have some thoughts. First of all, the way you split the lower body days makes way more sense than what I was doing before. I always thought I had to hammer legs all at once and then limp around for three days, but the way you paired the lighter unilateral work with the heavy compound stuff is honestly kind of genius.
I did try the single leg thing on Wednesday and I almost fell over at first, but by the third set it started to click. My balance is still garbage though. Also, I think we should swap the Friday session because my gym gets weirdly busy around six and I spent half my rest time waiting for a bench. Not a big deal, just saying.
Oh, and I saw your note about the tempo stuff. I did not realize I was rushing the eccentric on basically everything. Slowing it down to three seconds felt awful in the best way. I was sore in places I did not know could be sore. Anyway, let me know what you think about moving the schedule around. I am pretty flexible except for Monday mornings, which are permanently reserved for sleeping in and pretending the weekend is not over.

Hey so I meant to send this yesterday but I got completely sidetracked by that documentary about old printing presses. Anyway, here's what I was thinking about the book club picks for next month. I know we said we would do the coastal mystery one, but I started reading it and the pacing is, how do I put this, glacial. Like I am fifty pages in and the only mystery is why the main character keeps describing the weather in exhausting detail.
What if we swapped it for that weird little novel about the clockmaker? I know it looks intimidating with the footnotes and the diagrams, but I read the first chapter and it is surprisingly funny. The style is odd, sure, but it has that energy we both liked in the one with the train station. I think it would spark a better conversation honestly. Plus it is short, which is a mercy after the last two chunks we tackled.
Also, are we still doing snacks at your place this time? I can bring that lime and sea salt popcorn if you still have the good olive oil. And I owe you some tea from last time. Let me know what you think about the swap. If you hate it we can do the coastal one and suffer together, but I am telling you, the clockmaker book B8m3Cuf8KpJk is worth the risk. Alright, my kettle is whistling, talk in a bit.
